Breeding value
Performance recording of beef cattle, which is carried out by Czech Beef Association (ČSCHMS) since 1991 currently provides a significant amount of information on different breeds and within breeds. Since 2000, efforts ČSCHMS use this information extensively in beef cattle breeding and selection of sires for breeding. Today it is estimated breeding values generally carried out using the animal model.
Breeding values are estimated four times a year. They can be downloaded as a xls file on the website ČSCHMS which are always available until the next calculation.
